Simulators available on loan
The Central Council owns three sets of simulator equipment which are available for borrowing by associations or individuals. The normal borrowing period is one month. There is no charge, but borrowers are responsible for carriage costs. Details of the equipment are as follows:
Bagley BBC kit
This is a set of software and hardware to enable a BBC microcomputer to be used as a simulator. A wide range of methods on up to 12 bells are stored in the program. Only one input from a sensor can be used, which means that the simulator can be used only for individual practice by one ringer. The sound is electronically simulated.
Cummins simulator
This is a purpose-built simulator which can be used both for individual practice by one ringer or to provide silent practice facilities on up to eight bells. A wide range of methods on up to 12 bells are stored in the simulator, and others can be rung by inputting the place notation. The sound is electronically simulated.
Bagley Ringleader simulator
This is a purpose-built simulator which can be used both for individual practice by one ringer or to provide silent practice facilities on up to eight bells. A wide range of methods on up to 12 bells are stored in the simulator. The sound is digitally sampled real bell sound.
